Spicy Mexican Marinade

Easy and delicious! This marinade is a keeper!

This is one of those recipes you definitely want to keep.  It is so easy to put together and freezes really well too!  So make a big batch and keep it on hand because it is absolutely amazing!

About This Recipe

This marinade is so versatile and full of flavor - you can use it on chicken, pork, beef, seafood, vegetables, or even tofu!  This Mexican marinade is spicy and tangy with a touch of heat.  Want more heat?  Add a teaspoon of crushed red pepper!

I like to use fresh ingredients whenever possible.  In place of the limes, you can substitute it with lime juice.  And if you don’t have access to fresh oregano, you can substitute 1 ½ tablespoons of dried oregano.  But whenever you can, use the fresh varieties because FRESH IS BEST!

The importance of vinegar in marinades:  Not only does white vinegar provide a little extra pizazz of flavor to marinades, it also breaks down the fibers in the food’s surface and lets the marinade be absorbed in the food that is being marinated, making it more tender and flavorful.
